Baptism (Christening)

The Church of England welcomes all babies, children and families - whatever shape that family takes. You do not have to be married to ask for a christening for your child. You do not have to be an active churchgoer - as parents, you do not even have to have been christened yourselves. Everyone is welcome at their local church.

You might like to drop in to the "Clergy Surgery" which is held in church an hour before evensong on Sundays. During the winter (GMT) this is between 2.00-3.00pm. In summer (BST) between 5.00-6.00pm.  At that time you can talk though your hopes and expectations and book a date and time for the Ceremony.  The diaries are kept in church.

What services are available?
For those who are newly born, infants or young children there is a Service of Thanksgiving and later the Service of Baptism. If you have any questions, or if we can help in any way please do not hesitate to ask.   Contact the vicar by phone 01270 762379 or by email vicar [at] sandbachchurch [dot] co [dot] uk or by post 15, Offley Road, Sandbach CW11 1GY.

You will find a great deal of practical information on this website as well as the Church of England's own very good website devoted to Baptisms.
